Technology

Modern dentistry is always developing ways to make your visits faster, easier, more comfortable, and better for the world around us. The latest advances allow for earlier, less-invasive treatment, which means faster healing times and greater precision for dental procedures.

CEREC Same-Day Crowns

We know everyone has a busy schedule, which is why many patients prefer the convenience of same day crowns! Babin Dental offers same-day CEREC crowns so you don’t have to wait days or even weeks to get your permanent crown delivered! The acronym CEREC stands for – Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This precision 3-D technology is used to create high quality restorations quickly, right in our dental office.

We have invested in this technology that uses both computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to provide high-quality dental restorations quickly!

Our patients no longer have multiple appointments to get a crown. You will get your new, beautiful ceramic crown or restoration done in ONE day thanks to CEREC restorations.

Once your damaged or broken tooth is prepared, a series of photos will be taken with a digital scanner. Our experienced dentists will then digitally design your restoration from this composition of images. The final design will be sent to our milling machine, which will fabricate your new restoration while you wait. You can even watch it being made! After the milling process is complete, the crown will be polished and bonded to your tooth. Any adjustments necessary will be made and your procedure will be complete!

This method is much quicker and efficient than traditional lab fabricated crowns. Traditional crowns require a preparation, chairside impression that was sent to a lab and then fabrication of a temporary. After a few weeks, the patient would return to the office for delivery of the permanent crown.

At Babin Dental, our CEREC technology allows us to create your new crown/crowns quickly while using your exact measurements. If you want to take advantage of this modern technology and are in need of a crown or restorative treatment, give us a call to schedule today! 225-877-1248

75% Reduction in Radiation

We’ve gone digital, which means there is no longer wait time to develop X-rays. By simply placing a digital sensor in your mouth, the image is available immediately for viewing on our computer screen. With panoramic digital X-rays, we have an accurate picture of your dental arches, lower and upper, in just one image.

Another plus with digital radiographs is the 75% reduction in radiation exposure than with conventional methods of X-rays. In addition, there are no environmentally harmful chemicals used to develop the X-rays.

Technology That Lets You See For Yourself

Both doctors work with each patient, creating a bond through doctor-patient teamwork. With the advanced technology of the intra-oral camera and iTero 5D scanner we use a miniature video camera to display a clear and close-up picture of the problem teeth. Seeing for yourself lets you be part of the decision-making process to keep all of your teeth in good health.
